Jacobs began studying acting at age of 8 and took classes on Saturdays at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. When she graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School in the year 2000, Jacobs relocated to New York City New York to study at her studies at the Juilliard School where she was an active member of the Drama Division's Group 33. In 2004, she earned an undergraduate degree.
